I didn’t mention before, but when I bought the router I also picked up a couple of games. I was so chuffed, because I have been after the original Doom for ages and couldn’t find it anywhere, and then saw in PC World the original Doom (Ultimate Doom), Doom II, and Final Doom all on one CD for a tenner. Also the Return to Castle Wolfenstein for a tenner. They certainly kept me occupied while in the other house.
Even with all these new flashy games, its hard to beat the classics like Doom and Duke Nukem 3D… but it is so hard to find some of these old games now. The PC games market is not like music, books or films, where all the back catalogue is (largely) available all the time: the shops only ssem to stock the new games, with a few old ones being packaged as budget games. I usually go straight to that section.
Oh well. Back to the grindstone.
