Clerkenwell

I spent the day in historic Clerkenwell today. Our company has another office there and I have to pay the odd visit there. In theory it should be easy to get to, as its near Farringdon station which is on the Thameslink route, so I can get one train all the way through from Three Bridges instead of having to change trains like I do on my normal commute to Waterloo.

The trouble is that the carriages are horrible. The seats are narrower than on my normal route, and not as comfortable. Also, I used to have no trouble getting through with my season ticket at Farringdon but now they start querying it.

Today I avoided all the trouble as I didn’t have to be there until 9, so I caught my normal train to Waterloo then had a gentle 40-minute stroll over there. Not only is it good exercise, but I get to listen to my iRiver for even longer. The work was dull though. Doing some evaluation on a new asset database system. There is hardly any data in it so its difficult to work out what is going on, plus there is no field for asset number, which would seem to me to be the absolute minimum requirement for an asset database…
