The new football season is off to a flying start. First of all West Ham managed a comfortable win on the first day of the season, and Crawley Town drew away from home. Last year we had almost the best home record but possibly the worst away record, so am away draw is a good sign.
For sheer entertainment though, todays game between Wigan and Celsea will take a lot of beating. Wigan did really well, and Henri Camara was all over Chelsea. Maybe Wigan will feel robbed at the end, but it was a mighty goal that Crespo scored in injury time.
Its a bit early to say that its not a foregone conculsion that the promoted teams will all go straight back down, but West Ham and Wigan made a statement this weekend.
