I have been looking forward to the London-Brighton veteran car rally since the last one. It is one of the highlights of the year – not because I am particularly into old cars but because I can walk about 100 metres up the road to see them struggling up the A23 hill towards the Pease Pottage roundabout.
I had hoped to get some particularly good photos of the old bangers this year, but when I saw how much it was raining I decided not to bother. Its not that I mind getting wet: I just didn’t want to get the camera wet.
So kudos to all those hardy eccentrics driving all the way from London to Brighton in 100-year-old cars with no roof while I was indoors in the warm playing with power tools.
Maybe next year I will actually go into the High Street where a lot of the drivers stop for tea, toilets and major repairs.
