When the company reorganised and my job disappeared two years ago I was at a loose end for a while. They kept finding me stuff to do but I was more or less an employee without portfolio for a long time. Now they have reorganised again and recreated my old job while removing the one […]

Selection meeting

It was a good selection meeting over in Bewbush tonight. I was extremely impressed by how orderly and sensible the whole thing was – compared to the aimless waffle at Broadfield ward meetings most of the time. I had only slightly mixed feelings about not being selected there. It was a shame as its a […]

Shaggy Stalked Nippled Mushroom Originally uploaded by Chuck and Vicki Rogers. I think they made the name up but, like Ronseal, it does exactly what it says on the tin.

…then don’t succeed again. I’m just going out to another selection meeting. Again the ward members will have a choice between selecting me, a couple of other candidates, or a sitting councillor who is a prominent member of the council and a hard worker. I still think its important to go through all these motions […]

Prizes galore

Today was when the raffle tickets came home to roost. Mid-Sussex Body Positive held their Christmas raffle this afternoon. Just for reference, here is a list (lifted from the BBC News Monitor) of all the Express Diana headlines in november: DIANA DEATH CRASH SENSATION (28 Nov) PRINCES TO RETURN […]

That was the year that was

2005 is nearly over, and its been an eventful one. There were some major events with a global impact – the earthquake in Pakistan and the floods in the US after hurricane Katrina – and some of more limited significance like West Ham getting promoted and Gang of Four releasing a new album. Not a […]

Fortune favours the brave

I actually won something in a raffle yesterday night! Mind you, I’m not sure that I really won it. I think it was more a case that nobody else wanted it. All the other prizes had been chosen and there was just the one left, which had been rejected by everyone, and we were asked […]
Competition time

Its a ‘spot the difference’ competition. Can you spot the difference between this post from December 11th and this post from December 13th? Its a good job he is Labour or I would take exception to such a breach of etiquette…
