Creative Zen Nano 256Mb

Here are the photos I should have put in this post, where I compared all the mp3 players in the house.

This is Charlie’s player, which I was playing with tonight.

Its a nifty little machine, even with its tiny capacity. I was copying some music across for the boy and although you can drag & drop from Windows I decided to use Windows Media Player to do the copying.

You can hold the files in folders and set up a nice heirarchy of folders for artist/album, but its not really worth it for something which will only hold about 100 songs at a fairly low bitrate.

In WMP its a piece of cake, you just drag a song from the main window in the Library view and drag it to the Synch List in the right pane, hit the Synch Now button at the bottom and files are copied.

I loaded on all the songs Charlie wanted, and we ended up with a mere 32 songs. Out of the 9000 tracks on my computer, he only wanted 32. (Philistine!) And 6 of them were ones I ripped especially for him and deleted straight afterwards as I don’t like them.

At that point any guilt I had about only getting him a 256Mb player when the rest of us have 2Gb, 6Gb or 20Gb players just vanished.

I know he is capable of listening to the same couple of songs over and over again: he does it with his CD player and drives the rest of us mad with it.
