This is getting to be a habit.
I get to London for 8am on the basis that getting in early means I can leave early, and then the late shift call in sick so I have to hang around and cover the help desk until the night shift turn up at 8pm.
Whether we are just unlucky with our sickness or I am stuck with a bunch of workshy gits is currently open for debate. 10% of shifts in the month lost to sickness seems a bit high to me. Still, it was a useful demonstration to my new joiner who started today of why we need more staff.
Bit of a drag having to stay late, doing work I’m not really qualified to do though.
Tomorrow I shall go into full martyrdom mode then tell the boss I’m going to take wednesday off. No point asking – I didn’t ask if I could work an extra 4 hours today after all
