Just once I would like to see a chancellor grab the headlines by standing up and saying:
Last year’s budget was so good, my forecast was so accurate and our performance so in line with targets that there is no need to change anything.
And then sitting down again.
I know there are good reasons why it would never happen, but it would be fun to watch.

Not that anyone reads all this stuff at the bottom anyway, not when there is more exciting stuff to do like watching paint dry...
