Its a bit sad that I should take so much pleasure and pride over something so trivial, but I wrote a program today. I don’t think I have written a program from scratch for many years.
It was not the most elegant bit of code (I don’t know all the syntax and had a lot of trial and error) but it does the job I wanted it to do.
OK, so I had to go and ask Debbie, our resident programmer for a couple of tips, but I’m still glad I didn’t try to persuade her to just write it for me, which I’m sure she could have done in a fraction of the time it took me.
The problem was, of course, that Visual Basic is not quite the same as what I am used to… Sinclair Spectrum Basic.
