Mastermind

March 30th, 2006 · Posted by Skuds in Life · 2 Comments · Life

Mastermind has done it again, and found someone who is a bit of a character for us to cheer on, although it doesn’t always take much to stand out from the crowd of civil servants and retired teachers on the programme.

Last year it was the black bloke who managed to choose a different football competition as his specialised subject every time, and this year it is Nick Duffy, a band manager from Preston. He chose Blackadder as his specialised subject which meant that the average viewer could get some of the answers too.

Most importantly, he showed a bit of emotion at the end, punching the air and celebrating when he won.

He seems to be a bit of a local character in the Preston music scene and good luck to him if The Superkings, or any of his other bands get some publicity as a result. I don’t think he is related to the Nick Duffy who is brother of Stephen Tin Tin Duffy, but you never know…

    Wahey! Fame at last!

No, I’m not related to the Lilac Time people as far as I know. The next round films on April 25th (I’m afraid this time it’s the pretentious comic-book series “Sandman”, so not as much fun for the average viewer), but rest assured if I get through this round I will raise my celebration game yet further, possibly involving ostentatious badge-kissing, knee-slides, and throwing my shirt into the crowd.

    Go for it!

I will be hoping for at least the shirt pulled up over the head to reveal a slogan on the vest underneath in the now-legendary manner of Ian Wright!
