Our local, the Black Swan in Pease Pottage, has closed down for some building works. Its going to be closed for several weeks.
We don’t drink enough for it to be a problem, except for the fact that our eldest has a part-time job in the kitchens. I don’t think the closure has been very well advertised; we would not have known if Frankie hadn’t told us.
We used to go there every couple of months for a meal, and it sounds like others do the same. While they were up there packing stuff up today they had to turn away families who had arrived hungry.
So if you want to go there for a meal best wait until April. I imagine the re-opening will be advertised in the local press. I’ll certainly mention it here.
