Doorstep conversion

I think I performed a doorstep conversion worthy of the Jehova's Witnesses this morning. When I was asking a lady what party she supported her husband came through from the kitchen saying "Conservative, because they will bring back hunting with dogs!"

Normally this sort of response would make me give up and back away but I decided to explain a bit about how the council elections were about things with rather more immediate impact on our day-to-day lives than hare coursing and I think he decided that, policies on hunting notwithstanding, he would vote for Jayne next month. 

I have a few doubts whether he will actually vote at all – with our turnout in Broadfield there is statistically only about a 15% chance – but if he does he is a lot more likely to vote our way.  Every little bit helps.
