I had meant to mention this earlier but never got round to it…
On June 3rd there is a bit of a do at Filthy Macnastys in London. It kicks off with the England v. Jamaica kick-off at 2pm on the big screen, and is followed by a showing of the DVD of a 1986 show by Spizzsexual, then a live performance by Spizzenergi showcasing their 2006 World Cup song (We’re The England). I imagine there will be a DJ playing lots of old punk favourites in-between and afterwards.
Should be a good party, and Finsbury is very nearly Islington – how ‘New Labour’ of me I’m looking forward to hearing the England song played live: I downloaded it a while ago and its a beauty.
The only problem is… it all clashes with Paul’s gathering of the Labour clans (with a Lib-Dem and a Tory along for balance) elsewhere in London at about 6:30, but unless he can lay on free footie and free live music I will probably be up in Filthy Macnastys.
