Germany 2006 from a Hammers perspective

June 19th, 2006 · Posted by Skuds in Life · No Comments · Life

Most supporters of English teams in the premier & championship will have a few of their current players and old boys to keep an eye out for in Germany.

West Ham supporters can watch England play and wonder how we would have done if we could have hung onto Joe Cole, Rio, Lampard and Carrick, as well as the nearly-man Defoe, but for sheer frustration I would have to nominate watching Shaka Hislop play the game of his life for Trinidad & Tobago and then to top that Sergei Rebrov scored a goal at least 10 times better than anything he ever did while playing the claret and blue.

I think our problem is not that we have wrong players – we just have them at the wrong time. No doubt in four years time the England team will have Reo Coker and Marlon Harewood after they have moved on to Liverpool or Man Utd while West Ham has Ronaldo after he gains another two stone.
