Croydon Council

July 17th, 2006 · Posted by Skuds in Politics · 1 Comment · Politics

Just like Crawley, Croydon council changed hands from Labour to Conservative.  Just like in Crawley, the Labour party is worried about possible cuts to services and facilities.

On Saturday I was at the Croydon World Party in Lloyd Park. This event was started off while the council was Labour-controlled and has grown to be quite successful. This year's was noticeably bigger than the one I went to in 2004.

Amongst the stalls, was one from the local Labour party.

I think they were a bit surprised when they approached me, Jayne and Danivon with leaflets and we responded with a cheer and a smile.  It must have made a change from the normal apathy that political stalls, leaflets and petitions attract.

And talking of political stalls attracting apathy…

…the Lib Dems had a stall there too.

Be fair, there was a large crowd of people nearby the Lib Dem Stall. Because of the young female acrobats immediately to the right (past the cones, where the 2 Lib Dems were looking).
