Flower photos

As a follow-up to this post about the artificial flowers in Crawley, here are some photos of the actual ones in Three Bridges which caused such consternation amongst the local killjoys. (Assuming that the Observer didn’t exaggerate and stir it up for the sake of a story. As if they ever would…)

Apparently these flowers detract from the beauty of the streetscene, with its metal railings, spikes on the walls, permanent queue of cars belching out fumes, and yellow AA signs pointing us to new ‘luxury’ developments of nasty identikit housing.

The only ones I don’t like are the ones outside Crawley College, which are made out of wire. Don’t mean to be bad to the kids but they look liek dead flowers, obviously I support them as the kids clearly tried hard but I think it was an idea that missed the target. that said I also imagine how happy the kids would be to see there work up there and think that anything is better than nothing.

I know what you mean. I would rather look at the Three Bridges station ones than the Crawley station ones, but they are still better than empty pots.

(And they may have looked better before being subjected to the elements and traffic.)
