Jayne and I both had selection interviews again today. Despite my increasing disillusionment with certain aspects of the national party, and even the constituency party I am still happy to go on the panel of candidates.
It does help that very few winnable seats are likely to select anyone other than the sitting candidate for next year, so there is very little chance of getting elected. Its not that I would mind serving on the council: I'm sure I would quickly get into it and enjoy all the pressure, but I don't have a craving for it.
Its a small world though. The interviews were being conducted by someone from the Oxfordshire county party, who apparently knows Antonia quite well.
Who’s that then? (Oxon Couty party is a bit of a construct – it doesn’t really exist except as a pulling-together of the six CLPs around couty election time).
