A few of the treasures I found on eMusic so far:
- Bauhaus – the full 12-inch single version of Bela Lugosi's Dead
- Frankie Goes To Hollywood – the 16-minute sex mix of Relax along with several other 12-inch mixes.
- Art of Noise – Close to the Edit
- Dead Kennedys – Several albums including a live one.
- Nouvelle Vague – Brilliant bossa Nova versions of Too Drunk to Fuck (Dead Kennedys) and This Is Not A Love Song (PiL)
- Cleaners from Venus – ever since reading Giles Smith's book 'Lost in Music' I have wondered what they sound like.
On the minus side, I could not find anything from the wishlist I drew up when I wrote about the long tail of music back in January. I did find a New Age Steppers album but it did not have 'My Love' on it (I remembered the name). I also found some pleasant enough covers of Mind Blowing Decisions and Dog Eat Dog, but not the originals.
Listening to the previews just made me want to hear the Ted Nugent version even more, so I would have to say that my little hunt was a qualified success in that I found some gems, but not the ones I was looking for.

Be-la’s not dead! Fantastic.
Some other suggestions on there I’ve had:
The Cult, The Fall, MARRS, Propaganda, Cocteau Twins.

I saw the Propoganda and Fall stuff, but didn’t see (and can’t find) MARRS.
I could do with Pump Up The Volume but then I would probably get all nostalgic and want Technotric, Mel & Kim and 2Unlimited as well…

MARRS was a project between Colourbox and AR Kane. It’s on the Best of Colourbox (http://www.emusic.com/album/10756/10756779.html).

Brilliant. Thanks.
I can’t believe I didn’t already have that.
