What I learned today

Two things:

1. There is an ‘Official Encyclopedia of the Cornish Pasty’

But this story does not say whether there are any unofficial ones.

2. Hong Kong island is now half as close to Kowloon as it used to be.

A result of all the land reclamation for building, as featured in this morning’s paper. I do hope they stop before they end up with Hong Kong harbour looking like that muddy stream which separates Canvey Island from Benfleet. I only spent one day in HK eighteen years ago but I can still remember the Star ferry and its terminal. At only 16c for the crossing to Kowloon it was not only one of the best boat trips in the world, but one of the best value.
