I stumbled across a couple of bits of trivia today:
- The typeface used on British road signs is called Transport and its a year younger than me.
- The Irish writer Flann O’Brien, author of one of my favourite books – The Third Policeman, was a principle officer for town planning. I still can’t reconcile the idea of him holding down a day job so rooted in the concrete (literally and metaphorically) and the bizarre and brilliant ideas in his novels and newspaper columns.
