So who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks? A story in the Argus has the headline Dog sets light to house and nearly kills the cat.
I had a mental picture of Muttley standing round the corner, back to the garage wall, box of matches in his paw, peeking round at firemen carrying out the cat and doing his equivalent of “drat, drat and double-drat”.

In my experience the cat is most likely to be the evil mastermind. Has anyone checked that the pensioner concerned hasn’t left evrything in a will to the pets?
I don’t know why, but I am reminded of Mum’s dog Rusty being rescued by the fire-brigade – maybe she messed with the electrics to get her picture in the paper. (Rusty, not Mum!)
