The Nightmare Before Christmas

March 26th, 2007 · Posted by Skuds in Life · No Comments · Life

On saturday afternoon we went up to Camden Lock. I had not been there for years, over 15 years I think. It was great to see Jayne’s reaction to the place with all its interesting clothes shops and endless market stalls.

After a while you recover from the impact of seeing so many shops and stalls in one place and realise that actually… half of them are selling exactly the same things. Dennis the Menace-style red & black striped tops seem to be popular at the moment.

What caught me out was that every other stall had bags, t-shirts, hoodies and jackets with “The Nightmare Before Christmas” on them. I can only imagine that the My Chemical Romance/Bullet for my Valentine crowd have latched onto the film for its gothic image. Given the huge amount of TNBC merchandise I can only assume this has been going on for some time, and just passed me by.

I wonder how many other fads and fashions have been and gone while I have been busy getting middle-aged?
