I have upgraded to WordPress 2.1.2

Its a bit strange… looks the same in many ways but some of the subtle differences are quite significant. For a start the database has been restructured a bit with tables having different names. That should not be a problem, but the template I am using has some little bits of code in it which do SQL queries assuming the old structure so they don’t work.

Maybe I will fix it, probably not. Right now there is a workaround which is 80% OK – it just doesn’t look quite as pretty. If it bugs me too much I might try getting another theme and playing with it.

Also the upgrade seemed to corrupt the table holding the Bad Behavior data so BB wasn’t working at all – and it really showed: I was getting spam comments every few seconds again. I think its working now, although I had to take the fairly drastic step of deleting the table – a bit risky given my almost-zero knowledge of how the database works, but I think its OK now.

If anyone notices any strange behaviour now, can they let me know?

Comments Policy:

  • Certain words in comments will cause the whole comment to be automatically consigned to the dustbin (Aavaisha, hmmegatest, cognitive, phentermine, xanax, pharmacy, viagra, vicodin, casino, ultram, tamiflu, valium, tramadol, levitra, carisoprodol) for obvious reasons.
