I have been having some fun with a new toy this weekend.
We have had Jayne's oldest daughter staying with us and she is expecting a child in a couple of months. In anticipation of there being hundreds if not thousands of baby photos, I treated her to one of those digital photo frames.
There was an ulterior motive or two – I wanted to play around with one, and I thought it would give Jayne something to want for her birthday, so I will a clue about what to get her this year.
Anyway, it is a nice little toy. No doubt they will be available cheaply with very high-resolution in a year or so, at the moment the affordable ones have a fairly low resolution. The upside of this is that you can shrink photos down to smaller file sizes and still display them OK, which means you can fit thousands on a 2Gb memory card.
The novelty of these frames will wear off soon, but when it does they could become common fixtures in the house. I can imagine every desk having one before long.

When I went to my Mum’s she drank a couple of glasses of wine and began concocting hilarious stories as if she believed the random order was actually a narrative…
