Newsagents often have a board outside with whatever shock-horror headline the local paper can think up to generate excitement/fear/interest in that week’s edition. Sometimes they can’t generate quite as much excitement as they want…
I wish I had managed to get a photo of it, but as we passed through Binstead on the way home yesterday I saw that the most significant thing happening there was TEACHER RETIRES AFTER 30 YEARS.
I expect that previous headlines were along the lines of POSTMAN DELIVERS MAIL, WOMAN HAS BABY, or MAN CUTS GRASS and I kind of envy them for that.

The paper shop we pass on the way to work has one board outside which, when it doesn’t have an official T & A headline in it has been graffited by the local kids. It reads ‘Fred is a fat bastard’. Always a quiet news day here…
