Reading Wright’s answers to that questionnaire, I alternated between laughing and covering my face in horrified embarrassment in a way I hadn’t since I read the notorious Mick Hucknall one.
I loved that bit when he talks about his son’s salary and he says words to the effect of: “Kids these days don’t know they’re born. When I were a lad we ‘ad to mek do wi’ 20 grand a week and were grateful fer it.”

I still have fond memories of his time with West Ham and his unaffected reactions to the modern art at the World Cup… but they are a bit tarnished now.
