Ken Loach in Crawley

November 15th, 2007 · Posted by Skuds in Life/Politics · No Comments · Life, Politics

I got an e-mail about this yesterday. The film director Ken Loach is coming to Crawley this month to show his new film It’s A Free World and discuss it afterwards. He will be joined in the discussion by a former detainee from Tinsley House and an activist from the No Borders group who held a demo/camp in Crawley in September.

The film itself, apparently, depicts the reality of living and working in the UK as an illegal immigrant. Sounds like a bundle of laughs, but its not often we get top-drawer film directors here to talk to us so I’ll have to see if I can get along.

The film showing and discussion are taking place at Tilgate Community Centre, Shackleton Rd – so I am not expecting state-of-the-art projection and DTS sound – at 7pm on Tuesday 27th November. Its free to get in and all are welcome.
