Its a couple of weeks ago now, but I never wrote about this at the time because I was having server trouble, and then got caught up in the whole Christmas thing. On Dec 12th I went to a Broadfield Forum meeting, and there was an update on a question about swimming at K2 from […]

My brother-in-law also works in computers, but is much more ‘technical’ than me ((that’s a euphemism for ‘geeky’ I think)) – I know: it’s hard to believe from the photo isn’t it? Anyway, despite my comparative lack of skills, or should that be skillz?, I still get roped into a lot of favours for people, […]
Happy days are here again?

Well… I was hoping for at least three points for the Hammers over the holidays and already they have four. I didn’t dare hope for a home win against Man Utd., but that’s what we got.

Walking Tall

Its safe to say that Chas was surprised by his Christmas present. He had not been asking for stunt stilts, but Jayne had a hunch he would be chuffed, and fortunately he was. Even the fact that it was drizzly and nasty on the 25th didn’t stop him going out, although he didn’t get too […]
Christmas morn

Only a few hours before the kids start pestering us to get up… Can’t wait to see what Charlie thinks of his present, and can’t wait to see whether he lets us have a go. I expect we will spend most of the festive period in Crawley hospital.

Meaningless statistics

There was an eye-catching headline on the Argus website about how ‘Salaries in affluent Brighton are £3000 below average‘. It also says that salaries in Crawley have dropped £6,000 in the year. And its all rubbish.

A happy Christmas for West Sussex councillors

Well, its going to be happy for some of them anyway, specifically the 18 of them who are getting way-above-inflation pay increases – backdated to April so they get a nice lump sum in their next pay. They will be spending Christmas with their snouts in the trough.

Doorstep for Christmas
December 22nd, 2007 · Comments Off on Doorstep for Christmas · Life
What was I thinking? When this month’s Vine newsletter arrived I selected a couple of freebies to review – a CD by a band I had not heard and a book by someone I had never heard of. I didn’t realise that the book was 540 pages long and in large format too. That’s a […]

A great win for West Ham today with two cruelly-timed goals: one just before half time and one on 90 minutes.  Another minute and it would have been a draw, but whether its by a sneaky injury-time goal or by 5-0 its still the same three points. Its looking good though. 25 points from 17 […]

Introspection

One last (for now) bit of navel gazing about the new look and feel of this site and then its back to waffling about football, Dr. Who, music and the manifold shortcomings of the Tories. For a start, while I was not looking, the hit counter ticked past the momentous but arbitrary 100,000 hits mark. […]
