I already thought that Manu Chao was brilliant, and then I came across an interview in Word magazine this month in which he was talking about his early years when kids in the neighbourhood were all getting their music via home-taping. He was asked whose records he was copying and said:
Doctor Feelgood, the only band I’ve ever been a fan of in my life.
So the ‘globalista’ is really an Essex-boy at heart 🙂
