According to Planet Rock, Yes are doing a world tour this year. Its the classic line-up except for Rick Wakeman, who is being replaced by his son for the tour.
No dates announced for the UK yet, but I’m sure they will be here. The thing is that I have this irrational, superstitious fear of going to see them. The first live concert I went to was Yes at Wembley in 1978. I have seen a few bands more than once (Crowded House, Pink Floyd, Squeezem The Tubes, Spizzenergi) but I this is different.
There would be a neat symmetry to my life if the first band I ever saw live was also the last. That is what occurred to me several years ago, and since then I got worried that if I did see them I would not go to see anyone else. I said it was irrational.
Still no news about Planet Rock itself though. I think it was supposed to stop broadcasting after March 23rd if a buyer was not found. I have been getting a good fix of it this weekend in case it disappears.
