Last week, while I was getting my dressing changed and wound inspected, the nurse mentioned that quite often the cause of abcesses is stress. Thinking about it, there have been a few other things wrong with me in the last month that can also be stress-induced: a couple of nosebleeds, irregular sleeping, lack of concentration amongst other things. It does all point to perhaps being a bit stressed out. The trouble is that the only thing I am consciously stressed about is all the stress-related conditions. Its all a bit Catch-22. Time for a bit of mind over matter I think. I’m off to the chemist to get some industrial-strength placebos to sort myself out.
