Just a week ago I could well have read this news with some degree of despair, but after a weekend that saw the Hammers win well without Bellamy even on the bench I am a bit more sanguine about our future prospects.Based on previous experience, the chances of Craig Bellamy not picking up some sort of injury before the end of the season are slim anyway.  I do like him as a player, and I was really glad when West Ham signed him, but getting £14m for a 29-year-old player who only cost us £7.5 million recently and who has been out injured for half the time we had him has got to be hard to resist.
With any luck Zola will be allowed to spend at least part of the profits on another striker: somebody younger and luckier with injuries.

I forgot to watch MOTD2 yesterday… saw the goals on the breakfast news though. Great shot from Konchesky BTW but otherwise the Hammers Old Boys didn’t do you any favours.
Terrible mistake from Pantsil and I hear Zamora was living up to the old song again:
“When you’re sat in row Z
and the ball hits your head
That’s Zamora”
Sending him off to City rather than where he wanted to go raised a smile from me.
Here’s hoping that the rumour of Savio Nsereko from Brescia as a replacement turns out well.
