You should expand your horizons and check out my playlists of German, Swedish, Spanish and Arabic music - though I suspect the German one could be a bit on the heavy/industrial side for you.

Don't rub it in about the vinyl though - I might start regretting letting the Linn Sondek go!

Went to the above site d'led two play lists and guess what both were from you (African and french lists).
As for your comments on Sardou I would have agreed excpet we just bought some old vinyl on ebay including most of Sardou's early stuff and the one album I listened to was actually really good - i sat through the whole thing (which is rare for me with French artists - I tend to get bored about halfway through the first track).
Chris has goen overboard with the deck - think she's bought 20 or so LPs so far (I picked up another 14 from a 2nd Hand shop in Henley - unlike Chris I prefer to see the record before I part with some cash). Hopefully, after our lng weekend in Milan I'll get the time and a bit of spare cash to set it up as it deserves (thinking of gettign it seerviced then perhaps getting a dedicated amp for it - I don't think the AV amp - whilst excellent does it justice - unfortunaltey my plan to reclaim my old Cyrus 1 fell through as it's been relocated to Hungary .

Sardou? One of the best things about Spotify is the total absence of Sardou ;)

I have been investigating what French music is on there and found 113 Clan, Aston Villa, La Ruda Salska, Stinky Toys, Tonton David, and Manu Chao. Amazingly, it even has Les Wampas (unfortunately not their "Creepy Crawley" single) and the legendary Hot Pants - one of Manu Chao's earliest bands.

Nothing by Elmer Food Beat or Chihuahua and only one track by MC Solaar - but an hilarious cover of Arnold Layne by Etienne Daho (!)

I'll defintely be looking at this site - very unlikely I'll be adding my playlists to it - my uncool collection of Chris Rea, Chris de burgh and other MOR / prog rock would be more embarrassing than anything.

i suppose I could publish my wife's playlist - probably more cachet using names like sardou, balavoine etc. (at least until you realise that most of them are the french equivalent of the rat pack).

Got to say that Spotify is so incredibly responsive and the quality is so good that I can't help feeling there will be a change in the fee structure - even my daughter said to me "why would anyone subscribe ? One short advert evey 7 or 8 songs - beats the radio any day)>
