Temperature certainly is a problem. It also contains more dissolved gas than wines (and you don't get sparkling wines in a box), which means that it should be in a rigid container and kept relatively stable. If it's still 'live', then there are even more issues, but even if it isn't there will be sediment. You can, of course, get beer in a mini-barrel, which keeps it under pressure and you need to let it settle before you use it. And quite a few pubs will let you buy a take-out in a plastic bottle or box, but it has to be drunk within a day and kept cool or it will go off. Damn.
