A plinth among men!

July 30th, 2009 · Posted by Skuds in Life · No Comments · Life

A little while back I mentioned how Andrew from Wongablog was going to be appearing on the 4th plinth in Trafalgar Square as part of Antony Gormley’s One & Other project.  I was a bit jealous about that, especially as he got allocated a prime slot (4pm on a Sunday) but I’m now hoping that my name stays in the hat and doesn’t get picked for a subsequent month, because I have found out what he intends to do, and it is going to be a tough act to follow…As a commited Humanist, Andrew intends to spend his time on the plinth this sabbath by erecting a humanist bus campaign poster and conducting as many atheists as he can gather in a mass (he hopes) performance of the now-legendary Thriller dance in Trafalgar Square.  Full details are here.

If you can’t reach London, it will be on Sky Arts channel and streamed on their website.  If you can reach London it sounds like an interesting way to spend a Sunday afternoon.  This may not appeal to those of a religious nature: they can do their part by showing their tolerance and praying for good weather :)     Why not come along and try to get on the news?
