Firstly because last time was the first series win in 16 years, and secondly because the triumphalism looked a bit naff after the 5-0 whitewash when England went down under in 2006/7. But the prospect of a plinth-Ashes celebration mash-up would be quite fun. If I were on the plinth I'd hire a kangaroo costume and spend the hour pretending to cry into a pint of XXXX.
