For no particular reason I decided to assert my masculinity this week, and also get some use out of my TV and DVD player which otherwise sit idle most of the time. I watched Die Hard 4.0 again first of all. I wanted to enjoy the explosions and mayhem on one level but riducule the technobabble on another.
Tonight I had a craving for Commando but was shocked to discover that we don’t have it. I’ve seen it so many times I just assumed we must have it. I ended up watching Lethal Weapon instead and halfway through I realised that there is a common theme to all three films – apart from high body counts. In all three films the bad guys kidnap the hero’s daughter.
Is this one of the laziest plot devices ever?
Still not 100% sure how you spell “yippee kayay” though. Should have put the subtitles on to find out.
