The Deep Freeze Mice

I have been doing some random listening on Spotify this evening.   Sometimes, when the list of new additions is published I have a look down it and choose some tracks based on the criteria that I have never heard of the artists and they have an interesting name.  Tonight it was Xyra, Jazz Sabbath, Bullet for Dali, Linguistic Spermy Dervish, Children & Corpse PLaying in the Street, Magnetfisch, The Bloody Beetroots and…  The Deep Freeze Mice. There is more to the Deep Freeze Mice than a wacky name: they also have wacky song titles.  Even more so than the Bloodhound Gang.  A few of their song titles to savour:

  • I vote conservative (because I am in love with you)
  • A ten-legged beast (or an eight legged beast with feelers)
  • The hero might as well be Jerry
  • The unpronounceable Finn
  • These floors are smooth
  • I met a man who spoke like an UCCA form
  • The gates of lunch

Currently listening to ‘Esther hit me with the marmalade’ from their live album…   Musically I can’t honestly say it is as good as the new Muse & Jay-Z albums I listened to earlier, but it has made me smile more than both of them put together, and that can’t be a bad thing.

    Hello Skuds,
you’re right that’s for sure, our band name is strange, and so are our song titles and some of our album names 😉 Take our new EP for instance: “The Chexbres Trilogy” contains 4 songs, one of ’em is called “Slurmz”…

    best wishes,
    Tim / Magnetfisch
