When exclusive really means exclusive

Another Kraftwerk-related post I’m afraid, but how the hell did Mojo magazine manage to get an interview with Kraftwerk?    OK, maybe they overstate it a little when it is only interviews with Ralf Hutter, but since the departure of Florian Schneider he really is the only one left. (Apologies to Fritz Hilpert, Henning Schmitz and Stefan Pfaffe but I’m sure even they would admit that Hutter/Schneider/Bartos/Flur is the *real* Kraftwerk)When I saw the headlines on the magazine I was wary, and would not have been surprised to see some recycling of old sparse material with lots of padding, but there really was a substantial interview.  And the padding was good stuff too.  They even found people to champion Electric Cafe/Techno Pop and The Mix which I have always felt were unfairly slated by the critics.

The term ‘exclusive’ is bandied about all the time these days, but getting Ralf to talk to a journalist really is a bit of an acheivement, even with a major release of’product’.
