Light Tree by Steve Geliot
On Saturday morning I took advantage of that short window of opportunity between the sun coming up and the rain coming down to take a few photos in and around the park. I particularly wanted to see the new sculpture outside the Pavilions: Light Tree by Steve Geliot.
It looks OK to me, although it is not in its proper location – it is to be moved in a year’s time. It has a sort of organic shape that goes well with the nearby trees. During daylight the surface reflects in all sorts of angles, and in the dark light comes through the many holes in it.
It does look a little familiar though.While looking at it I really could not help being reminded of the BBC’s version of The Day of the Triffids, starring John Duttine.
