New ways to feel old

There was another of life’s little milestones today.  It is one thing when your own children hit eighteen, that is bad enough, but when your little sister’s kids  reach eighteen…  A much bigger milestone for my niece Annie though.  We went back to Essex for her 18th birthday party tonight.  It was a good family evening, one of those increasingly rare occasions when I get to see both my sisters at the same time.

Annie enjoyed the party, but I’m not so sure she will enjoy the headache tomorrow morning quite as much,
