Totally Lost

March 23rd, 2010 · Posted by Skuds in Life · No Comments · Life

Instead of indulging our own hobbies individually, Jayne and I sat down together this evening for a session of catching up with TV.   Having watched last night’s episode of Heroes I realised that we were five weeks behind with Lost, and ended up watching three of them.I am starting to get worried, because this is supposed to be the final series and the producers promised that all would be explained, but so far it is just getting more and more complicated.  OK, maybe the numbers scrawled in the cave and on the lighthouse dial can explain where the lottery numbers came from (but not how they came up in the draw) but generally everything is getting more opaque.  I had anticipated that it would take a whole season to unravel the plot but so far it is just being ravelled even more, and I’m not even sure that is a real word.

I will be more than a little annoyed if, at the end of the last episode, it turns out to be John Locke’s dream or some such other cop-out.

This is the reason why I have avoided watching House, 24, the Sopranos, the West Wing, Deadwood, Battlestar Galactica, the Wire or countless other US TV shows – I’m not sure I really have the time to get hooked on more than one at a time.

Mind you, however frustrating Lost may be, it is not boring us, and a marathon session helps to take my mind off uncertainties at work and certainties in the Horsham election…
