My Flip arrived today – the new 8GB HD model, and very nice it is too. It is willfully bereft of features as it is based on the design concept of just doing one thing, doing it well and making it easy for you to make it do that thing. I had read good things about the earlier model in the book Simple & Usable Web, Mobile and Interaction Design without suspecting that I would get my hands on one within a month.
I’m lucky to have it actually – I had to come home at lunchtime to let an electrician in and found that Royal Mail had left it outside the house – £150 worth of toy just sitting there for anybody to snatch. Without no trouble at all I took a quick test video of each cat, uploaded them both the Facebook, and uploaded one to Youtube.
I’ll be writing a full review soon, but for now here is a hastily-shot film of Diego.
Great quality video there. Looks much better than my old Kodak Zi8.
I love how Diego senses trouble, then decides it’s probably not worth investigating.

He doesn’t much of a problem doing that. He is usually the source of it.
