It is one of those headlines that promises so much and delivers so little. When I saw the headline “Horse rescued from tree” pop up in my RSS feed I just had to go to the story. It turns out that the horse was tangled up in a tree stump and was not dangling in mid-air or anything.
How would newspapers survive if the trade description act applied to their headlines and billboard posters? Certainly the Brighton Argus would be out of business in a fortnight.
