After my experience of having the BlackBerry die on me I implemented nearly all the advice about extending battery life and it has had a dramatic effect. Now the thing still has plenty of battery life left after a couple of days.

Smashing Logo Design: The Art of Creating Visual Identities by Gareth Hardy is another book I got through Amazon’s Vine programme. Here is what I wrote about it:
Too much information

I was a bit late into work this morning. This was indirectly caused by information overload. More directly, it was caused by the battery totally dying on the mobile I have been using as an alarm clock, but information overload contributed to that.

I have just seen the story, tucked away towards the back of the Crawley Observer, about Gordon Seekings getting married to Marcella. They may be Lib Dems, but still… all the best to them. I hope everything goes well.

It is good to have Jayne back home. Ok, maybe she seemed happier to see the cats than me but then they *are* cuter than me and they didn’t go up and visit every day. Had to put on a tin helmet for her verdict on the quality of my housekeeping though…

I’m feeling lucky

I was chatting to a friend at work who is a serious christian (he does all the Alpha course stuff so he knows a lot about it too) and mentioned about Jayne’s current situation. He had got halfway through saying he would pray for her when my raised eyebrow stopped him. We do discuss religion […]

TVOD

So I am dabbling in the indulgence of using a song title as a post title again but I doubt many people will remember the song TVOD (double A-side with Warm Leatherette by the Normal AKA Daniel Miller on Mute Records. I’m starting to miss my old vinyl) Chrystal is down for a few days […]
Three cheers for the NHS

I seem to have spent a lot of time in hospitals during the last few months. This week it has been because Jayne has been admitted to East Surrey hospital. On Sunday she had some headaches and I spent the night keeping an eye on her. Eventually I took her up to the hospital early […]
