There was a small plague of flying ants in Crawley this afternoon. Our front garden was covered with them.

Tell me about the rabbits George!
July 6th, 2007 · 4 Comments · Life
One of my little pleasures in life, and a favourite part of my daily routine, is seeing the rabbits on the roundabout near my workplace every morning. The roundabout is on a busy road with buildings all around it and I reckon therefore that its very likely the rabbits live on that roundabout and stay […]
Puppy dog tails not included

The recent wet weather has brought a huge number of slugs and snails into the garden and I have been unable to resist trying to photograph them at night. This is my favourite snap so far where, without regard for personal safety, I put myself directly into the path of a charging snail to get […]
Wildlife

Alert readers will recognise this log. The last time a photo of it appeared here there was a terrapin on it. This morning I walked down to K2 for the election count, taking the Greenway through Broadfield Park to get there. As I reached the lake I saw a pair of canada geese with half […]

Just what I always wanted…

Daddy Long-Legs

Is it just Crawley which is plagued by these things at the moment, or is it nationwide? They are not scary like spiders, potentially painful like wasps, or disgusting like flies – just annoying. They keep fluttering around skittishly, flapping into your face. It is like being inundated by very, very fragile moths.
Wolf!
September 6th, 2006 · 2 Comments · Life
Jayne’s sister came to visit this evening, and brought her dog with her for the walk. It was the first time I had seen it. She did say what breed it is. I can’t remember what she called it, but as far as I can make out its just a fancy name for wolf. Beautiful […]
Steve Irwin
September 4th, 2006 · 2 Comments · Life
After seeing Steve Irwin scooping up deadly snakes, juggling deadly spiders and hanging out with crocodiles (deadly of course) todays news that he has been killed by wildlife should be no surprise, but after surviving some of the most dangerous creatures in the world it is a bit of a shock to see him finished […]
