On Friday afternoon I got the phone call I had been half-expecting: the insurance company called to say that my car is not worth repairing.
A shame really. With the very few miles I actually need to drive it is hardly worth having a car, but I got used to having this.

I finally got round to calling the insurance company after last week’s prang. I had been waiting to hear from the lady who went in to the back of me, but she hasn’t been in touch, so I decided not to wait any longer.

My tiny car is now a tiny bit smaller. I set out today to get signatures on my nomination papers for the forthcoming local elections and got rear-ended at some traffic lights.
I have had someone roll into the back of me in traffic queues before, with such slight a impact that there was not even [...]

Damn Top Gear and damn Jeremy Clarkson! Until last week I had decided that, in the unlikely event of me winning the lottery, I would rather fancy having as a day-to-day runabout one of those new Fiat 500s. Although it would be hard to resist an Aston Martin, Merc or Jag in the garage I [...]

We had our team meeting today, followed by the mystery activity that had been billed as ‘go-karting with a difference’. The boss didn’t tell us what we were doing until the last minute, when he gave us a map to Mercedes Benz World at Brooklands, and told us that we were going to be shown [...]

There is a bit of speculation about what we are going to be up to next week. The IT department is having its regular team meeting, followed by some sort of non-work team-building activity, but the boss is being a bit coy about the details. He has been threatening us with a team [...]

I can’t believe that I forgot about the Broadfield Forum tonight. I was all set to go, I even mentioned it to a few work colleagues who I know live in Broadfield, and then just forgot it was on.
