Could this be the season that all three newly-promoted Premier League teams survive? I know it is only early days in the season but already Hull have as many points as Derby got in the whole of last season after beating Arsenal and West Brom have managed a couple of wins to keep them in [...]

Bring It On Home

Dear Football Association, can we play all our games at home please? Love & kisses, West Ham.
Early days yet, but are we going to have a ‘fortress Upton Park’ season? So far we have won all three home games, giving the Hammers the best home record in the league. At the same time we lost [...]

Match Of The Day

Strange times in the football leagues at the moment. I took advantage of having Setanta yesterday and subjected myself to their overwhelming yellowness to watch Man City and Chelsea, where City found that having billions of pounds behind them is not going to immediately propel them into the top four of Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and, [...]

Forgotten Ground

For the last couple of days there has been a group of caravans parked up in the big layby outside the Broadfield Stadium. Is this the group of travellers who have been in town for several weeks now, setting up home in Maidenbower, Three Bridges, Furnace Green, Southgate, etc.?
No. I think they are visiting Spurs [...]

Double helpings

Crawley Town are apparently on the TV for a second time this week, when Ebbsfleet visit the Broadfield Stadium on Thursday evening. They were on Setanta Sunday night, playing Forest Green. That was a bit of a disappointment though – the previous two games were wins of 8-0 and 4-0 and then when they played [...]

Well… I was hoping for at least three points for the Hammers over the holidays and already they have four. I didn’t dare hope for a home win against Man Utd., but that’s what we got.

Crawley Town v Spurs
August 15th, 2007 · 1 Comment · Life
What is going on? Next week a Spurs XI are coming down to play Crawley Town. Its unlikely that we will see Defoe, Bent or Berbatov down the Broadfield stadium but the team is supposed to contain a lot of first team players who aren’t getting much real action.
In other words, its a [...]

Bugger!
Not a great start for West Ham. Its some sort of consolation that after all their heavy spending and talk about breaking into the top four Spurs also lost.
Looking on the bright side, Crawley Town beat Stevenage so they now only need another win to reach zero points.

Lightning strikes same place three times

For the third season in a row Crawley Town have been docked points. This year we start the season with minus six points. At least we are 4 points up on where we were at the start of last season, which is a tiny consolation.

The great escape?

With Charlton losing today and West Ham beating Wigan, survival is still a slight possibility for the Hammers. At the moment we are only in the relegation places by goal difference because we only beat Wigan 3-0. Had we beaten them 6-0 we would have been one place higher.
Of course we are now [...]
