Home page?

May 25th, 2009 · Comments Off on Home page? · Politics

I had a look  at Francis Maude’s official website earlier today.  It was disappointing on two counts. No details of expenses published yet. When you click on the HOME button it doesn’t say “Which one?” Not surprised to see that his virtual home, like his real third home, is “funded from Parliamentary allowances”.    Skuds’ Sister’s […]

Just recently I have been busy setting up a new web site for Horsham Labour Party, with a final push to make it go live on May 1st.

Not a real blogger

April 28th, 2009 · 2 Comments · Life

I think I have to hold my hands up, turn in my anorak, and admit that I am not a real blogger for three reasons: Left a whole week between posts Most serious bloggers can’t leave it seven hours, let alone seven days Offered no explanation for the week of silence And I am still […]

Buffing up

April 19th, 2009 · Comments Off on Buffing up · Life, Technology

That circular graphic will be a familiar sight to anybody who has had the misfortune to use ITV’s miserable ITV Player as I did this evening to watch Primeval.   Tonight was the 4th episode and the 3rd that I have had to watch this way, having forgotten it was on. I’m not sure which is […]

Probably not a serious website…

April 14th, 2009 · 9 Comments · Jane

A work colleague pointed me to the website of one of my favourite authors today. Jasper Fforde is an author of comic genius who should be made compulsory reading at English ‘A’ level. (Then the exams would be easy and fun!) I am currently enjoying Toad News http://www.jasperfforde.com/toad/nikon.html and can heartily recommend you do too!

Here’s looking at you kid

April 7th, 2009 · Comments Off on Here’s looking at you kid · Life, Technology

Street Life

March 25th, 2009 · Comments Off on Street Life · Life, Technology

I am really loving Google’s Street View at the moment.   Google’s cameras have not yet penetrated West Sussex so I can’t look at my house, but that doesn’t bother me too much: if I wanted to do that I could just go outside.   What I have been doing is ‘visiting’ old haunts to see if […]

Commentary

March 23rd, 2009 · Comments Off on Commentary · Music, Technology

The new Pet Shop Boys album, Yes, was released today and I went on to Spotify to listen to it.   You don’t really fire up a new PSB album and expect any surprises, but this had one at the end: not a hidden track ((Horrid things.  Can’t stand them)) but a commentary track like you […]

Clever but pointless

If the internet did not exist we would not have this.  How do people think of things like that? Not sure whether to be amused, impressed or just meh.

Scrobbling

March 15th, 2009 · 2 Comments · Music, Technology

Apparently I have been scrobbling, and it is not as painful as it sounds.  It just means that I connected my Spotify up to Last.fm so that it feeds information on what I have been listening to.  I have made a conscious and arbitrary decision to not scrobble from Windows Media Player, but since getting […]
