My printer has been playing up a lot lately. Lots of error messages about the ink system failing, and it would also lock up a lot when scanning. I did a bit of research on the net and found that it was most likely a hardware fault that could easily be fixed with a couple […]

The horror, the horror

I walked round the corner to the County Oak retail park this afternoon, and very quickly came straight back again. It was madness, and I am so glad I was on foot and not part of the bad-tempered, horn-blowing mass of people looking for the mythical last parking space. I think I may be turning […]

When we were in town last weekend we tried to buy the boxset of a specific season of a specific American TV show.  They had umpteen boxsets of that show in HMV, everything except the one we specifically wanted. On returning home I looked on Amazon and found that they also had every season of […]

As I had to go into town anyway this afternoon to pay in a cheque, I decided to have a browse in HMV. I came out with a nifty DVD of The Crazies, which has the 1973 original on a second disc. Watched the film tonight and really enjoyed it. I suspected that I would […]
On the move?

With any luck we will be moving soon.  We went to look at a place the other day and had decided even before we arrived that we would have it unless it turned out to be absolutely unsuitable. We spent about half an hour there and decided that it would do. When I bought my […]

I do not normally succumb to advertising, but yesterday I clicked through one of the adverts on Spotify. It was for a company called Flowe(red).  They do flower deliveries, but unlike the other companies that do the same all profits go to the Global Fund to help eradicate AIDS in Africa.

Apperently times are harder for some than for others if Selfridges reckon they will sell a leg of ham at a price of more than £250 a kilo (and than includes the bone!) according to the BBC. You would want to be sparing with the Branston on that wouldn’t you?

After Christmas I treated myself to a couple of things on Amazon, notionally using some xmas money from Mum (happy birthday today BTW – 70 candles!). Unfortunately they had not quite arrived when the snow fell and so they didn’t get delivered here until today, when the postman brought a huge backlog of mail – […]

Chrystal got a new stereo for her car a while back (a pink one of course), but the shop had to order a special part in to fit it.  Over the last couple of weeks Jayne has had several increasingly disputatious ((I don’t car whether it is a real word or not)) phone calls to […]
